Hello from Your Legal Team at The Law Office of Jeanne M. Wilson & Associates, PC
We have all been waiting for guidance and decisions from our local Courthouse and from our Colorado Supreme Court so we would know how to proceed with your case. Having just received this guidance, here’s what we know so far.
The Courthouse will remain open in a limited capacity and your case WILL continue going forward–although we should expect that Court appearances will be delayed or held by telephone, when possible. Some Court appearances and hearings are not able to be held by telephone and for those we will either have to postpone the Court date or find a resolution and settle the matter through negotiation. The determination of what will be held by telephone and what will be postponed will be made by the Judge or Magistrate on a case by case basis. Meditations will be held by telephone when possible. Emergency motions and restraining orders will be given priority and will likely go forward even when most other cases are postponed.
Our office will remain OPEN and we will continue to meet all Court imposed deadlines and follow all Court Orders. We will be staffed during our regular business hours M-Th 8 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am to 12 noon. We will remain in contact with you through email and telephone. The “social distancing” practice shall be observed whenever possible to limit the spread of infection. So, documents can be sent by email and fax to us and that is how we will send them to you (which is already what we do in the vast majority of cases.)
Please know that we remain committed to serving your legal needs and getting you and your family through your case with a minimum of legal entanglements and the difficult emotional issues inherent in family law cases. We will continue moving forward to work toward a result that will provide you with peace of mind as you and your family face the future.
Call us to talk about this issue and how we think your case may be affected. We are here for you and want to hear from you.
